Gold Rush Square Dance Productions 2015
Have you ever wondered what The National Convention was like? It’s like Disney World for square dancers, and now you can experience it for yourself. This years National Convention will be held in Cincinnati Ohio, only 5 hours away, and is sure to be an amazing event.
Dancers and Callers from around the world will come together June 21st – 24th 2017 to create the most dynamic and entertaining experience our activity has to offer. From dancing to dinner shows, from seminars to fashion shows, from tours to vendors, The National Convention has it all.
As in the past, this year’s convention will feature some of the best Callers and Recording artists from around the world performing to a live band (The Ghost Riders Band) in the main arena. If you have never been to one, it is well worth the effort, and for many, it can be the experience of a lifetime.
Because of the magnitude of this national event the Ohio State Convention will not be held in 2017. All statewide efforts will be focused on making this years National Convention a huge success, and all clubs should encourage their dancers to attend.
This is the one that many have forgotten about over the years and it’s still here. The WV State Dance Convention is one of the most enjoyable and inexpensive conventions that you’ll ever find.
Located only about 2½ hours from Pittsburgh, this convention will be held July 28th thru July 30th 2017 at West Virginia Wesleyan College in historic Buckhannon, WV and feature a Boogie Nights Theme.
The WV Convention provides dancers with camping and dormitory options for lodging, as well as an optional meal plan for those wishing to avoid hotel costs. These options make the entire convention more intimate and very affordable costing as little as $125.00 per person that includes registration, housing, and food for the entire weekend.
Along with Mainstream, Plus, Advanced, and Round dancing, the convention also hosts Clogging. Casual dress is permitted throughout the event, and a theme is promoted for Friday night. Die hard dances, late night after parties, unscheduled surprise dangle dances, and a dedicated singing call room are all part of this experience. This convention is all about fun outside the box.
Many talented Callers/Cuers from WV, Ohio, PA, Kentucky, and Virginia make for a great weekend of dancing fun. Check it out! With no Pennsylvania convention for 2017,
dancers are advised to get their registrations in early to secure their rooms.
